Raffle Tickets
Raffle tickets are available in envelopes at the back of the church. The grand prize is $1000. The seller of the winning tickets gets $100. Tickects are $5 each or 3 for $10. We are asking each family to sell at least 6 tickets. Place the ticket stubs and money in a sealed envelope marked "raffle" and drop in the collection basket. The drawing will be held on August 23 at the festival.
August 23rd - Summer Picnic
Plan to join us for good food, music, a bake sale and country store, an auction, and games for kids and adults alike.
Tickets for the dinner, catered by Randy's Ribs & BBQ, will be sold in advance. From June 1st to July 31st tickets will be $18.00 each (children under 6 years old free). Tickets will be sold from August 1st to August 10th for $20.00 each (children under 6 years old are still free).
Additionaly, hot dogs, hamburgers, baked goods, and beverages will be sold at the festival.

Wine & Cheese OPEN HOUSE
Come meet fellow parishioners, members of the Parish Council, and learn about the many ministry opportunities at St. Ignatius church. Members of the Community, Litergy and Outreach Committees will be there to highlight upcoming activities and answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

September 14th - Noon Outdoor Mass
As part of the commemoration of the 350th anniversary of Charles County, Archbishop Donald Wuerl will celebrate mass at Noon at St. Ignatius Chapel Point. September 14th if the Feast of Exultation of the Holy Cross. Archbishop Wuerl will bless the congregation with the relic of the Holy Cross as part of the Mass. Light refreshments will be served at a reception following the mass and tours of the Manor House will be conducted durung the reception, as well. Please note: There is be no 11:00am Mass on September 14th.

Summer Festival Volunteers needed!
It takes a Parish to throw a Parish Picnic, so your help is needed to make this event a success. There is a sign-up sheet in the rear of the church. Thank you!
St. Thomas Manor BINGO
Held the first and third Saturdays of the month. Upcoming 2008 BINGO dates are: ** Please note there will be no BINGO May-August. Also, we always need volunteers. If you can volunteer to help, please call the parish office. This is a good fundraiser for the church.
BINGO starts at 6:00pm in the parish hall after ther 5:00pm Mass. Doors open at 5:15pm
Summer Festival Dinner Tickets
Tickets will be available for purchase after most masses starting July 6th. you can also sign the ticket request list in the back of the church and someone will contact you. Dinner tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $18. Children 10 and under are free.
Summertime daily Mass at Noon
Sacred Heart in laPlata will hold Mass at noon daily during the summer months. St. Ignatius will continue to hold the regularly scheduled 8:00am Mass and resume the Noon Mass in the Fall.
CCYM Summer Lawn Chair Theater
CCYM - Catholic Community Youth Ministry presents Lawn Chair Theater every Friday evening at St. Joseph's Pomfret, except July 4 and August 1. All movies are rated PG 13 or lower. Bring your own chairs, snacks and friends. Info? Call Mrs. T at 301/934-2261.

Loyola Retreat House
Loyola Retreat House, located on Popes Creek Road in Saint Ignatius Parish, offers various types of retreats all year long: men's weekend retreats, four women-only retreats a year, general weekend retreats, seven-day silent guided and/or directed retreats. Wayside Food Bank
The Wayside Food Bank will be located at Holy Ghost Church, in Issue, MD. It is open the second Saturday morning of every month from 10:00am-noon.
If you knw of someone in need of food, call our parish office or give them the date and time the food bank is open. There has been an increase in the number of people in our community in need of the services of the WFB. On July 19, the WFB served 80 individuals. Many thanks to the volunteers who help stock the shelves and serve the people. The "wish list" for the next distribution date on August 16 is: toilet paper, paper toweles. detergent, bleach, juice (boxes or bottles), spam or small canned hams that don't require refrigeration, coffee. School supplies needed are: pens & pencils, notebook paper, folders, binders, and 3&5 subject notebooks. If you can donate any of these items, please leave then in the back of the church and we'll get them to the WFB.

Fellowship Coffee Hour is held on all first and third Sundays.

Charles County 350th Anniversary
During 2008 Charles County will celebrated its 350th year with various events throughout the county. Saint Ignatius Parish will take part in the celebration. Suggestions on how are welcome.
The Gift Shop
Stop by after the 9:00am or 11:00am masses on Sunday to shop for books, religious articles and unique gifts. We have many new items, including 2 stained glass ornaments depicting the church and the Fr. Andrew White window. Supplies of these ornaments are limited and we will have a waiting list if they sell out.
Cemetery Grass Cutting
Please remove all artificial flowers and plastic decorations from the cemetery. In order to keep the cemetery neatly cut and trimmed without damaging the mowers and weed eaters, it is necessary for the flowers, etc. to be removed. If you have any questions, please call Catholic Cemeteries at 301/932-1766.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels needs drivers to deliver meals one day per month to the elderly and shut ins. If you can help with this important ministry, please call Helen McClean at 301-743-5644.
